Maitreya (Pali: Metteya) is the future Buddha of this world, a Bodhisattva who will eventually appear on earth, achieve complete enlightenment, and teach the pure Dharma. Maitreya Bodhisattva will be the successor of the historic Buddha. He is predicted to be a “world-ruler”, uniting those over whom he rules.

                Filled with a roll of 108 of the 4 Dharmakaya Relic Mantras and Himalayan medicinal herbs, these small Kadampa stupas are meant for placement on altars, serving as a support for meditation as a symbolic reminder of the awakened state of mind as well as a clearly defined map of Vajrayāna cosmology.

               The Kadampa stupa is not just a reliquary or a monument for devotion, it is a three-dimensional diagram. The emotional responses on seeing a stupa of this style or circumambulating a larger stupa, elicits transformation, through its structure, complexity and ascent through the Bodhisattva Path. It invites you into a cosmological system mapped out by the 13 rings. Kadampa Stupas express the union of opposites, energetic ascent, the logic of the mandala, non-duality and transforming the mundane into the supramundane. By transforming our inability to see clearly, into an enlightened state, by not escaping or purifying it, the stupa becomes a machine for transformation.
